These are all sites which I personally use and love, and all of the opinions here are honest. None of these companies are owned by or affiliated with Amazon.

I've disclosed the benefits I receive when you use these links but please contact me if you have any questions.

Happy reading!

Maisie Rose x

A stack of paperback books which Maisie has received from Queer Book Box. From top to bottom: Freshwater, We Have Always Been Here, Easier Ways to Say I Love You, Maggie & Me, English Animals, Crimson, Girl Meets Boy, and Trumpet.

Based in the UK, with shipping to Europe, North America, and South America.

You all know how much I love QBB, right? The photo above is just some of the amazing books I've received from them!

Every month they send out a queer book by a queer author. They have 3 box options at the moment:

  • Basic Box (£10): one queer book

  • Original Box (£15): the same book as the Basic Box, with a themed bookmark, breakdown of why QBB selected this book, cool content like author interviews, and "if you like this" style recommendations.

  • All Out Box (£45): everything from the Original Box, plus a queer zine, access to a members-only discussion space, merch from QBB & Gay's the Word, first look at the next book (if you don't want it to be a surprise) and cool extras like queer art (by queer artists) and wearables!

All books are sourced from Gay's The Word (a famous LGBT indie bookstore in London).

If you use this link to get £5 off your Queer Book Box, I will get £5 credit towards my next box.

Scribd is an amazing way to read an unlimited number of ebooks (including graphic novels), audiobooks, magazines, and sheet music. They have hundreds of thousands of titles on offer with more added regularly, including new releases! I think of Scribd as a premium library; I can read any title that I'm interested in before deciding whether to buy it.

In my first month on Scribd, I listened to Shatter the Sky by Rebecca Kim Wells, Pillow Thoughts by Courtney Peppernell & King and the Dragonflies by Kacen Callender. I also read the first issue of The Avant-Guards by Carly Usdin. If you want to see my reading lists on there, you can click this link to view my profile!

Even though you don't purchase specific books with your membership, Scribd pays authors the full price of their work when you read or listen to one of their premium titles!

If you use this link to get a 60 day free trial (instead of the standard 30 day free trial), I will get 30 extra days of free membership.

A screenshot of a book on the Wordery website. The book is Seven Devils by Laura Lam and Elizabeth May, released on 6th August 2020. This screenshot was taken on 14th August 2020. It says that the hardback edition is available for £16.49 + free delivery, so you save £2.50 off the RRP (£18.99). There is a tick to show that this book is in Maisie's wishlist. It also says "FREE delivery to United Kingdom in 3-4 working days", "EXPRESS DELIVERY available", "Wordery has an Excellent rating of 4.71 on reviews.io". There is a short description of the book under this information. A picture of the book cover is on the left, and a banner reading "staycation reading - shop now" over an edited image of a selection of books is on the right.

Free worldwide delivery with no minimum spend!

Wordery is an online bookstore with a great selection of over 10 million books at affordable prices. They also sell stationery and gifts.

You can create multiple wishlists on Wordery (like the one in my linktree), and they will email you if the price is reduced on any of your wishlisted books. You can share specific wishlists with friends and loved ones. Currently they will need to know your address to post them directly to you, but hopefully that will change in the future.

Using this link will give you a code for 10% off up to two books. I will receive a code for 10% off, too.

Libro.fm Library.jpg

By buying from libro.fm, you directly support independent bookstores! I regularly buy sale audiobooks from here. Memberships are only available in the USA and Canada at the moment unfortunately but audiobooks and gift memberships can be bought internationally.

Libro.fm have an excellent selection of over 150,000 audiobooks, all of which are DRM-free (meaning you own them forever!)

They always have a selection of sale audiobooks too, making them much more accessible to non-US listeners who can't set up a membership. Audiobooks I've bought from Libro.fm for under £10 each include Stamped From the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi and Kings, Queens, & In-betweens by Tanya Boteju. I've seen amazing books like Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo and The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers in their sale section, too!

You can choose which independent bookstore you would like to support with your libro.fm purchases, and change it at any time. None of my local indies are on there just yet, so I looked into Libro's list of Black-owned bookstores and chose one from there! I am currently supporting People Get Ready.

If you use this link to get your first* audiobook for free on Libro.fm, I will get a free audiobook after your first month of membership.

*If you're switching to Libro.fm from a different audiobook provider (e.g. Audible), not only will you get that great feeling that comes with supporting indie bookstores, but Libro.fm will thank you by giving you two audiobooks for the price of one!
